Last night was a visual feast of avant-garde fashion and beauty at the Met's 2011 Costume Institute Gala with many an A-list actress choosing Judith Leiber clutches to stash their infinitesimally small necessities. Starlets like Gwyneth Paltrow, Elizabeth Banks and Mary-Kate Olsen all chose a version of the glamorous, rectangular-shaped box that has come to be associated with the Judith Leiber name. But it was Lauren Bush of FEED Project who was spotted carrying the Judith Leiber FEED 1000 clutch, an exclusive design the label is doing with Bush's organization.
Made of Italian linen and coated with a light, shimmery metallic foil with a beaded front panel and long brass chain strap, the FEED 1000 clutch retails for $495 in stores, with half the proceeds ($250) going to fight world hunger. Bush had previously talked to People about the collaboration.“I am a huge fan of the clutch because it looks equally great with jeans and a T-shirt as it does with a cocktail dress,” said Bush, who rocked it last night with a slinky gunmetal gray gown.
The bag will be available beginning May 5th at the Judith Leiber boutique at Bergdorf Goodman NYC, as well as on www.judithleiber.com.
