This past Sunday marked the kick off of the 24th Annual Chicago House Spring Brunch and Fashion Show. Chicago House, which is the leader in housing and supportive services for people affected by HIV and AIDS, raised over $115K for the organization and its efforts against the HIV and AIDS epidemic.
Over 400 guests gathered at the Harold Washington Library’s breath-taking Winter Garden Ballroom to enjoy a three-course brunch, silent auction, fresh spring flower market, and fashion show headlined by Mark Shale. Chicago House CEO Reverend Stan Sloan remarked on the events of the day and the goal of Chicago House “The clients of Chicago House most often come to us…black and white, men and women, homeless and white collar executives, gay, straight and transgendered…but with one thing in common…they have lost their ability to imagine a hopeful life with HIV, but at Chicago House it gets better. It gets better because Chicago House believes in them, and that is possible because you are here and believe in us.”
The Annual Brunch & Fashion Show is one of over 20 events a year to benefit the organization. Next in their lineup is the return of the Speaker Series Luncheon addressing HIV and Homelessness, featuring keynote speaker Whoopi Goldberg, November 4th at the Palmer House Hilton Hotel.
