You think you’ve been following Jason Wu on Twitter? Well, think again.
Several accounts claim to be the designer, even one called “TheRealJasonWu” but Wu is officially launching his legitimate account today. In the guise of the owl logo Wu launched for Spring, you can now find Wu under the Twitter handle “MissWu_NY”. Wu seems to think that having an owl on Twitter makes perfect sense. “She’s sort of this phantom muse who embodies what we’re about,” Wu told WWD. “I thought it would be more interesting to have her perspective. Having a bird that tweets — it just seemed natural, right?”
Miss Wu isn’t the designer’s only digital debut. He’s also unveiling a revamped website on June 6, done by Li Inc. in collaboration with Sweden Unlimited. In addition to new video content and collaborations, the site features e-commerce, starting with handbags, including three online-only styles and ready-to-wear will eventually be added. To get people excited about the unveiling of the site, Wu is holding a giveaway on his FaceBook page, giving one lucky Wu lover a $1,500 online shopping spree.
Mr. Miss Wu is finally stepping into the 21st Century.
