Fashion Invades Tennis

May 25, 2011 • Health & Fitness

Usually “athletic fashion” is an oxymoron, but in a sport that usually requires cute little dresses on the women something was bound to happen. Maria Sharapova played in the French Open wearing a new Nike dress with a certain Parisian spot in mind.

The dress had a lattice pattern up the bodice with a strip of fabric up the middle anchored by a jersey and mesh tw0-layer skirt that flared out to homage the Eiffel Tower. The dress was super trendy while also being functional for the game.

While we’ve seen many flops on the court fashion-wise, if Nike can make little yellow dresses look so good for tennis we should all be restringing our racquets.
