Heritage Cashmere Scarf by Roy Chinnici International Collections $150

Back in April I attended this same event for Mom (er, for the most part me…I am a Mom!).  Last week I was again invited to attend the Accessories Council’s Father’s Day Top Picks Tweet-Up this past Tuesday evening. Who couldn’t use some help in the Father’s Day department? I don’t know about you, but my father and husband (now a dad) are really hard to shop for! Needless to say my inbox is now flooded with father’s Day suggestions, but I really only like to recommend those I can see, feel and touch.

A select group of media and bloggers were invited to the Marchon eyewear showroom across from Byrant Park last Tuesday evening, where Accessories Council (AC) president Karen Giberson with entrepreneur and Izzibag designer Anne Agoren unveiled the AC’s top picks for Father’s Day 2011. Some of them were really good! I was pleasantly surprised! In fact, I was so excited to give a few to my husband. I did so immediately upon my return home. Guess I have to find him something else for Father’s Day (shhh, I did).

So here is a rundown of some of the 9 picks (the ones I liked & would seriously consider for Dad):

1. Heritage Cashmere Scarf by Roy Chinnici International Collections, $150 (pictured above).

Granted, it’s a little warm right now to be thinking of winter, but this luxurious 100% cashmere scarf is a classic. What Dad wouldn’t want to sport this next fall/winter. I love the colors of the scarf shown, but if you don’t…there are many variations. Maybe you should save this one for Christmas since it’s not available in the States yet (I know, why was it suggested for Father’s Day? Scratching my head about that one too), but will be soon.

2. Lacoste Leather Belt $75

Not only did my husband love this reversible belt, I wanted one for myself! I adore the “croc” logo belt buckle and the black and dark brown option inn one belt! Brilliant. Now make one for women Lacoste, so I can enjoy my refound preppiness.  love t is one of our most needed accessory but this one offers dual black and brown option in one belt. This is the perfect option for a Dad who travels and is available at Macy’s, Lacoste and Zappos.

3. The E-Ink Phosphor Watch $175 and up.

Fashion & technology meet! This is a great option for the hip or tecnho-geek Dad.  The E-Ink electronic paper display is like that of the Kindle. It boasts standard numeric digital display in one mode, a graphic hour clock display in another, and the ability to switch between white-on-black to black-on-white time display give this digital watch a style all its own. How cool is that? Women, don’t fret, they have some equally brilliant ones for us as well.

4. Colibri Enterprise and Slice Gift Set $165

If your dad is a cigar enthusiast this is the perfect gift for him to show off. The set includes a triple-flame, refillable butane lighter (which my husband almost lit himself on fire playing with) and a double-guillotine cigar cutter with a 60 ring gauge aperture to strip the tip of today’s most popular cigar brands. Available at Davidoff NYC, Natt Sherman and local tobacconists across the country.

5. Calvin Klein Leather Wallet and Key Fob $45

Does Dad need a new wallet? This stylish, yet classic leather matte wallet is a must then. My husband was skeptical at first, but appreciated the mass of credit card pockets. He has never seen so many and was then excited to use it. The key fob will hold spare keys. Available at Macy’s and Bon Ton Stores nationwide.

6. Swarovski Nano Crown Cufflinks $70-$90

OK so cufflinks may be predictable, but Swarovski cufflinks? I think not. These Swarovski cufflinks are from Swarovski’s first line for men.  They come in a variety of shapes, sizes and colors to match the personality and style of any type of dad. For the minimalist father, the modern and industrial Nano Crown cuff links are the perfect gift (my husband has worn them to work already). The Round or Rectangular cuff links are a great fit for a more traditional dad.  And for the sportier guy, the collegiate inspired New England cuff links will score points with your dad.  These cuff links retail between $70 and $90 per pair, and are available at select Swarovski stores nationwide.

Thanks Accessories Council for introducing some great gifts ideas and for a wonderful evening with old and new friends. Happy Father’s Day!
