Retail Detail. Target’s New Designer Diffusion Accessory Lines

With the Missoni for Target collaboration in the works, everyone seems to be buzzing about little else. But the chain of retailers has also signed up for two other noteworthy designer diffusion lines in the accessories division. First, Albertus Swanepoel, the South African milliner has inked a deal with the chain to create a capsule collection of his eccentric and whimsical toppers, debuting on October 30 and remaining available until late December. The Albertus Swanepoel for Target collection will reportedly feature 14 women’s hats, some in leopard print and with various fabric trims, for $19.99 each.

Launching simultaneously will be a limited-edition jewelry line by former fashion editor at W magazine and product designer at Mattel, Dana Kellin. Kellin has created a name for herself with her signature technique of wrapping 14-karat gold and sterling silver wire with semiprecious stones. The Dana Kellin for Target collection will echo the same sense of high end design, yet in a more mass produced way, and will range from $9.99 to $49.99 for necklaces and earrings.

Considering the retailer’s previous accessory collaborators, which included the likes of Anya Hindmarch, Temple St. Clair and Mulberry, these two designers will fit right in!
