Last week I had the pleasure of attending Robert Verdi’s Ultimate Father’s Day Gift Guide Tweet This! I just love getting together with my favorite peers (other online and magazine media) at Robert’s ultra chic lounge periodically to find out what Robert is trending these days. So obviously with Father’s Day just over a week away the focus was what to get that special man in your life (Dad of course) that is so hard to shop for. Ties and paper weights are sooo boring. If you are like me the two Dads I know (my father and my husband) are IMPOSSIBLE to shop for. Well Robert pulled this one off brilliantly, I must say. I now have perfect gifts for both…in fact I sent some off to Dad today and hid the others from my husband’s prying eyes.
I’m going to share a few of my faves with you, but at the end of this post is a video of Robert Verdi going through all of his picks and frankly, he does a better job explaining (and is infinitely funnier) than I will be.
Dad will love that you found him vintage inspired ‘man’ candles. He is probably sick and tried of all those perfumed ones Mom has around the house anyway. Perfect for his man cave. There are six scents to chose from and each has an original drawing by artist Don Carney. Made from 100% soy every candle has a 72 hour burn time.
Brookstone Video Spy Pen, $69.99
If your Dad has always dreamed of being a secret agent man, this pen is for him! This cool “Spy Pen” sits in your pocket (protector) and takes full-color video at 640 x 480 resolution. The pen has a 4GB flash drive that can hold up to 1.5 hours of content and runs for up to 2 hours on a single charge. Also records sound. It has a simple, one-button operation and writes too!
This kit is perfect for the bald(ing) Dad. How cool that the triple blade slides over his head using just his finger? This gift is going to my “bald is beautiful” husband…and I’m totally excited about it!
Carerra Sunglasses, $160
These 80’s inspired sunglasses will have your Dad looking years younger just by virtue of sporting them! The mirrored blue lenses although retro will have Dad looking better than Tom Sellek did in the day! I’m actually really giving these to my Dad. He will look way hip and I would love for him to look younger (feel it too).
HP Touch Pad, $499 (16 GB), $599 (32GB)
For the tech savvy Dad! He can seamlessly move between apps and see related activities grouped together automatically. Multitasking will be a snap!
