Inese and Richard H. Driehaus, along with Driehaus Design Initiative, recently hosted The Tenth Anniversary Celebration of The Driehaus Awards for Fashion Excellence to a sold out crowd of 400 guests. The annual event, which launched in 2002, showcased the best student fashion designers from five Chicago-area colleges and universities. Raising more than $125,000 for the Chicago Fashion Incubator, this money will provide emerging local designers the resources to launch their fashion careers – including workspace, curriculum and mentoring.
Driehaus Design Initiative, an IRC section 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, was established to promote and encourage design education and to foster public appreciation and understanding of all aspects of fashion design and history. Driehaus Design Initiative contributes the proceeds from the Driehaus Awards for Fashion Excellence to support fashion and design endeavors in Chicago.
