I try a lot of fragrances and in the summer months I am particularly picky. I prefer a fresh, light and either floral or fruity scent and save the heavier stuff for the colder months. One scent I tried recently and am wild about is Burberry Summer for Women. This new scent has been re-interpreted to capture the tranquil mood of a British summer morning. It’s a fruity, floral, green fragrance (all the right notes for me). Sparkling top notes are of pomegranate with orange, mandarin and green leaf. Floral heart notes are of rose, freesia and lily of the valley. There is a soft veil of cedar wood, sandal wood and white musk so it dries down beautifully. A little goes a long way and the scent lasts all day and evening. I have not stopped wearing it since I received it. It could be love.
I was also given a sample of the Burberry Summer for Men. Since my husband is not really into cologne or fragrances I gave it to my father on my recent visit. He is what I call a men’s cologne connoisseur. I trust his opinion and am always amazed how good he smells. It’s his thing. So what was his feedback? He too loves it. He said “it’s light, but distinctive.” In fact, I just checked and he is wearing it right now! The men’s fragrance is citrus aqueous woody. It has top notes of Yuzu leaves and mandarin, heart notes of aromatic mint and juniper berries, warm notes of thyme, floated wood and gorse flowers. The dry notes are of cedar wood and sandal wood with musks and amber.
