Wrist Watch To Choose?

July 15, 2011 • Accessories, Bling/Jewelry, Fashion Blog

When getting dolled up, be it morning or night, the main focus is choosing your ideal ensemble! Adding the finishing touches, such as jewelry, scarves and handbags, can often be overlooked or short-changed as time runs out. Accessories, though, can either make or break your look. One extra that can keep you on schedule and completely polish off the most minimal outfit is the wristwatch.

Do you own a timepiece? How about five?

The concept of owning more than one watch seemed farcical to me; that was, until I purchased my beloved Michael Kors. Strapping on my silver ticker, brought an instant touch of luxury to my style. I never considered myself a “watch person,” but sporting my MK timepiece day-in and day-out got me to thinking, “Maybe, it’s time to expand my collection?”

You, too, can justify the investment in another watch because the practicality and swag a single, stunning wristwatch offers only multiples when you have a variety of styles to choose from.

Hey, if a girl can never have enough shoes – why be limited to one watch?

Five Tickers To Buy:

I. Silver Fox: If you are a newbie to the watch club, I suggest going with a classic, silver timepiece. To make a subtle statement, choose a simple, clean style and oversize it! I prefer a thicker band displaying a medium to large face; it resembles a man’s watch but still feels graceful. Michael Kors ‘Large Runway’ Watch, $225

II.  LBW: Forget the LBD, and invest in a little black watch! I’m crazy about this black Fendi number! How sexy would this be teamed with a pencil skirt and silky blouse? Or even your favorite LBD? Fendi Large Square Ceramic Bracelet Watch, $995

III.  White & Gold: Break the rules and rock this white ticker way after Labor Day! This MARC BY MARC JACOBS chronometer will sparkle against a summer tan or add an unexpected touch during those frigid, winter months. MARC BY MARC JACOBS Oversized Round Watch with Patent Band, $200

IV.  Skinny Minny: Even though I typically opt for chunkier watches, there’s something sweet about dainty styles as well. To edge up an ultra feminine style, such as this DKNY timepiece, stack on a variety of thin bangles. If you have porcelain skin, I’d recommend slipping on a silver style, and for deeper skin tones, gold will glow. DKNY Stainless Steel Bracelet Watch, $115

V.  The New Neutral: Rose gold has to be one of my favorite hues for watches; it looks good on virtually everyone. Wearing this watch all year long, never tires. When paired with a floral dress – it’s ethereal! MARC BY MARC JACOBS ‘Henry’ Rose Gold Chronograph Watch, $225
