Outside the new Oliver Peoples Chicago store

Stylish Chicagoans can now view the world in a new whole new way, through the eyes of Oliver Peoples. The luxury eyewear brand has landed in our dear city and is wasting no time introducing itself to its newest neighborhood, the Gold Coast. Last week as the Chicago summer sun was setting, the Oliver Peoples boutique threw open it’s sleek glass doors and ushered in friends, fan and followers of the classic brand’s sunglasses and optical frames to get a peek at the new store.

Large mirrors and color-changing logos accented the space

In a respectful nod to the urban landscape, the store boasted various kinds of raw materials set into its foundation, from Ash wood beams to rock concrete floors. But beyond that, the store stayed true to its roots of sleek and elegant simplicity, all made possible by Los Angeles decorator, Ilan Dei who also designed the Sunset Boulevard flagship store and Madison Avenue.

Personal listening stations

As far as the delicate wares housed within the new space, no style was spared in the boutique’s most current collection. Brimming with row after row of  hand crafted optical frames and sunglasses, the store contained all three brands included within the Oliver Peoples Inc. portfolio – Oliver Peoples Eyewear, Paul Smith Spectacles, and Mosley Tribes.

Other neat little perks to the store include an onsite optician who can provide consultations, custom frame fittings, and prescription services and various listening stations in the store, complete with attached headphones to bone up on up and coming rockers while shopping for new specs.

And as a special treat for the opening, Oliver Peoples created an exclusive, limited edition aviator sunglass style designed specifically to embody the classic Windy City Style.  The Oliver Peoples “heart” Chicago Benedict features a luxurious 24k white gold, polarized glass lens with a custom breathe logo. The limited edition style will be available exclusively at the Chicago boutique and in honor of the new store, Oliver Peoples made a generous donation to Chicago’s own Evening Associates of the Art Institute of Chicago for audience development programming and increased awareness of the arts.

Even the fruit and prosciutto sported the Oliver Peoples logo!

With a welcome as warm as their West Hollywood headquarters, we can already tell Oliver Peoples will fit right in to their new Chicago digs. We already can’t wait to go back!
