Everyday, we are just one step closer to the collaboration of Macy’s and Karl Lagerfeld that was promised back in November.
According to sources, the Karl Lagerfeld collection will be a part of the Impulse line, and to be carried in over 200 stores nationwide, including the Herald Square in Manhattan and State Street in Chicago, and Macys.com. The luxury designer has also reportedly incorporated his signature style into his one-off collection for Macy’s, including some high-collared pieces as well as edgier, rock ’n’ roll looks. All the items will be at Macy’s price points, in the moderate to better range.
Macy’s reports that the collaboration has been in the works since last year and is “integral to Macy’s efforts to elevate the profile and appeal of its Impulse contemporary departments”. Sources also say that the collection should be hitting stores by August. Lagerfeld’s collection will be followed by a Macy’s exclusive line by Giambattista Valli in November. Lagerfeld will also create a special holiday capsule collection for the department store.
