With the ink still drying on the break from Jil Sander, Uniqlo is already forging ahead. WWD reported that the Japanese retailer is teaming up with Undercover’s Jun Takahashi after a deal was made between Takahashi and Uniqlo’s parent company, Fast Retailing.
Though neither side is ready to let loose details just yet, there is talk of the first collection between the designer and the retailer to hit stores by next spring. The collaborative effort will also be planned to debut in conjunction with a flagship store in Tokyo’s stylish Ginza district. After joining forces with German designer Jil Sander in 2009 and creating the popular +J line, Uniqlo and Sander parted ways following the fall 2011 collection.
