Apparently the weirdness factor is low in the non-fiction section. That’s why the dynamic duo (and I use this term loosely and/or sarcastically) is here to help!
Grand Central Publishing announced today that it will publish LADY GAGA, a book of never-before-seen photographs of Lady Gaga taken by photographer Terry Richardson. Taschen Books will publish a very limited edition of the book to be released the following year.A press release explain the concept of the upcoming book:
“A visual dialogue between Lady Gaga and Terry Richardson, the book will showcase over 350 color and black and white photographs taken during the 10 month period in which Richardson followed Lady Gaga and had complete access to her everyday life, with nothing being off limits. Beginning with Lollapalooza in August 2010 to the February 2011 Grammy Awards which had 26.66 million viewers, (the highest viewership in over a decade) to the final shows of her Monster Ball tour which averaged an attendance of 90,000 people each day, Richardson brilliantly captures the intimate, random, behind-the-scenes moments of Lady Gaga in both her professional and personal life. During the almost year-long global odyssey, Richardson took over 100,000 images and followed the recording process of BORN THIS WAY. The resulting book, featuring some of the most revelatory and exciting of these photographs, captures Lady Gaga as never before seen.”
“Captures Lady Gaga as never before seen”? The only way they’d be able to do that is if there’s a photograph of her with unwashed hair, no makeup and in sweatpants and flip-flops. The book is already scheduled to publish November 22.
