So last Thursday I enjoyed my last night out before the impending birth of baby #2 with some of my favorite people. For those of you who think competing fashion bloggers in NYC don’t get along…you are wrong. Most of us do. In fact, I am going to miss not seeing some of these women the next few months. I digress. So, on the night of the much anticipated Project Runway Season 9 premiere a group of us got together at the chic Style Coalition lounge in NYC for an exclusive viewing party, sponsored by HP.
Attendees included myself, Julia Dinardo of Fashion Pulse Daily, Dina Fierro of eye4style, Amber Katz of Beauty Blogging Junkie and MTV Buzz Worthy, Amy Chandra of Midtown Girl, Yuli Ziv of My It Things, Tricia of Fashion Herald, Erin Lee of Sugar Rock Catwalk, Eileen of Miss Whoever You Are, Kristin Booker of Fashion Style Beauty, Elysia Mann of Fashion Fille and Jordana Bruner of Clutch22.
In case you didn’t notice all of the product placement during the show (how could you not?) HP technology plays a HUGE role on the ninth season of “Project Runway.” You will notice the designers using the latest and coolest HP EliteBook Tablet PC notebooks with second-generation Intel® Core i7™ processors to create winning designs throughout the season. They will also be using HP TouchSmart desktop PCs, HP video cameras and HP Veer. The winning designer of season nine will receive a $50,000 prize package from HP and Intel to create his/her own vision.
So needless to say I was thrilled to use an HP Mini notebook to live-Tweet throughout the evening. In fact, I need to get my hands on one for Fashion Week and on-the-fly coverage. My iPad just isn’t cutting it. Anyway, during the show attendees also participated in our own HP design challenge. We were challenged to sketch our runway-worthy look using the HP TouchSmart desktops available on hand (so freaking cool, by the way) in order to compete for the grand prize a HP digital camcorder. I didn’t participate since I can’t draw and didn’t want to embarrass myself. Nor did I want to move form my comfy perch with my legs propped. However, I am thrilled for Jordana Bruner of Clutch22 blog who won the challenge with her amazing sketch, which in my opinion surpassed those by many of the Project Runway designers!
Visit www.mylifetime.com/hp during the season to learn about the technology used in the show. The HP and Intel Brand Boutique will also announce the upcoming “On the Runway Sketching Challenge,” during which you can show off your inner designer in a drawing contest.
