Could it be? Is Gen Art be making a comeback? The original incubator for up-and-coming designers is now under new ownership and could be back sooner than realized after disbanding suddenly after financial troubles.
Gen Art is going to spotlight six ready-to-wear designers, one men’s wear and four accessory designers. Ace & Jig, Ann Yee, Eighteenth, Jennifer Chun, Shunghee Bang, William Okpo, and Baron Wells will make their runway debut at Fall 2012 New York Fashion Week, WWD is reporting.
On September 9, a 7 pm cocktail party will showcase the accessories designers followed by a runway show at 8 pm, at the Grand Ballroom of the Manhattan Center at 311 West 34th Street. Gen Art will be selling tickets so all, even non-industry individuals, can attend. Tickets will run between $50 to $95. You can buy tickets and find out more information on the Gen Art website.
Hopefully, this means that Gen Art will be headed back to the Windy City soon…
