There are the fashionable celebrities…and then there are the fashionable celebrities! The celebrities on this list are the ones that not only made a name for themselves in the entertainment industry this year (TV, films, and music) but made the right style choices doing it! Whether it was from their favorite designer, their stylist or their own personal stylist, these are the stars that made an impact in fashion this year! It’s fashion’s breakout stars!
Whether it was appearing alongside Ashton Kutcher in The 70s Show or doing the voice of Meg on Family Guy, Mila Kunis has always been one to watch, but this year, the actress took things to another level appearing alongside Natalie Portman in Black Swan and with “BFF” Justin Timberlake in Friends With Benefits. She also seemed to take her fashion to another level, trading in her bellbottom jeans for red sheaths and Elie Saab dresses. Indeed this goofy princess is all grown up.
Ashley Greene is certainly a breakout star, having never appeared in a big role before the Twilight series where she plays one of the main characters. Luckily, she didn’t do anything drastic with that title in the fashion category like so many other fashion “losers.” She did, however, enhance her classic, trendsetting, playful fashion sense by wearing print dresses or keeping it romantic in white dresses or black and white. While we like her more casual style, we’re glad she ditched the silver sequins and flashier pieces.
Lea Michele seems to be living every girl’s dream. The girl with the magical voice not only does Broadway, but she’s now on an award-winning musical TV show where she gets to act prissy and use her vocal chords. Now she has big name designers like Oscar de la Renta creating pieces for her. What could be better than living every girl’s fantasy in Oscar de la Renta?
I guess Mary-Kate and Ashley aren’t the only stylistas in the Olsen family. Look who’s coming out now! There’s something sweet and cool about Elizabeth Olsen and the way she mixes bohemian hip and fashion forward without being overwhelming in big princess ball gowns or form fitting overtly sexual gowns. Not only does she look good in what she wears but she makes sure to promote the twins at every turn, often stepping out in their ultra-chic designs. Now that’s sisterly love!
There’s something so fashionable about the way Emma Stone wears bright colors, architectural styles, and lace. While she’s certainly a household name this year, it seems like her style has followed suit as she takes bigger risks with her clothing without losing her fantastic sense of style and self. She makes her statements through a plethora of movie premieres, wearing designers like Christopher Kane and Chanel.
Chloe Moretz may only be 14 years old, but she already seems to have fashion down pat, looking way more mature then most teenagers her age in swathed wraps, debonair hats and beautiful dresses. Katherine from Red Carpet Fashion Awards put it best when she said, “Most 13 year olds are shopping at Topshop, Miss Selfridge or Forever21, but this young girl is wearing Chanel, Dior, Proenza Schouler and Stella McCartney.” This “Kick Ass” movie star has plenty of attitude, but plenty of fashion prowess as well and we can’t to see how it grows as she gets older.
