Emmy-winning television star, celebrity stylist, author and fashion designer, Carson Kressley hit Chicago on Monday and took the Windy City by storm. Being as bubbly as always, Kressley stopped by Nordstrom on Michigan Avenue in Chicago last Friday morning.
Between talking about his upcoming women’s ready-to-wear collection for Spring 2012, Kressley also gave out some helpful styling tips for the Fall season. For his fashion must haves, make sure to bring out a lot of color. “There hasn’t be a fall where color is as important has it has been in a long time,” Kressley explained. This could be one of the reasons it is crucial to bring out those brights when the season starts to change!
Another biggie for the Fall would be those ever important accessories. Kressley stressed to keep a lot of boxy and sleek silhouette shapes around, as they will help bring depth to your ensembles. Capes are always a nice transition piece from fall to winter so an accessories such as that is good to have. Camel colors work best in this aspect from transition to day to night. Shoes will also be big. “I can’t buy cheap shoes, ” Kressley said. “If there is one think you can splurge on, it’s always a nice pair of shoes.” High heels and stacked loafers are very in-style this season with both trend and comfort.
“It’s not about embracing every trend,” Kressley warned us after explaining all of the upcoming items to look for the fall season. “It’s about finding out what works for you exactly so don’t get caught up in it all!” He also made sure to warn us about the dangerous high-waisted pleated pants in a (somewhat) joking manner.
For 10am, Kressley was nothing but a delight. His energy is just as how you’d imagine from seeing him on the small screen and even nicer than one could think. And it was just announced that Kressley would be starring in the upcoming season of Dancing With the Stars. A man of many talents!
