Summary: Norman Ambrose sure knows how to put on a show. For his Spring 2012 collection, many gasped at the sheer sight of the dramatic pieces that showed up on the runway at Lincoln Center. The show is described as “sun glistening on the Mediterranean like a sea of diamonds…” which completely embodied the theme. Each piece had some kind of sparkle, whether it be a full on gold jumpsuit or a Tunisian inspired turquoise hand-embroidered tunic.
The crowd especially reacted to the gold jumpsuit, which golden glass hand beaded bolero brought what could have been seen as an everyday jumpsuit to a whole new level. Even though many of the pieces were simplistic in nature, the effect of glass hand-beading and embroidery brought up the level to a new dimension of sophistication.
