“Gossip Girl” Collection In The Works:
L.A. loves their gossip! Los Angeles-based contemporary label Romeo & Juliet Couture has partnered with Warner Bros. Consumer Products and Warner Bros. Television Group, which produces CW show “Gossip Girl”, to create a collection that will premiere at Coterie on Sunday and sell at Kitson, Neiman Marcus and Saks Fifth Avenue for fall, just in time for the series’ season five premiere on Sept. 26.
The collection, priced from $80 to $200 retail, includes embellished tops, bottoms, novelty sweaters, outerwear and draped chiffon dresses with touches of leather, pleats and prints, inspired by characters including Serena van der Woodsen and Blair Waldorf. “This is Romeo & Juliet’s first entertainment venture, and ‘Gossip Girl’ was a natural choice for a partner, as the show is synonymous with fashion,” said David Shamouelian, chief executive officer of Romeo & Juliet Couture.
Reem Acra May Be Making Scent:
In the daily wagon-jumping game of the fragrance world, today’s newest member is none other than Reem Acra. Market rumors are circulating that the bridal and red carpet designer is in the final stages of negotiations for a possible fragrance licensing deal with TPR Holdings LLC. The move woudl make sense due to the ultra-feminine and glamorous nature of Acra’s evening wear designs. TPR also owns the Freeze 24-7 skin care brand and hair care brand Oscar Blandi.
Alexander Wang Will Unveil White Rocco Bag in Milan:
Alexander Wang is taking it to the streets of Milan for the city’s White trade show. The New York-based designer will be debuting a white rendition of its ever-famous Rocco bag for the first time ever. The White Pony Rocco Bag, made exclusively for posh Milanese boutique Antonioli and London’s Selfridges, will make be unveiled in Milan on Sept. 23, at the Antonioli concept store. A tribute to Wang’s edgy street style, the sleek tote is crafted with lamb and pony calf hide and a metal-studded base. Boutique founder Claudio Antonioli is planning the event with White Milano trade show organizers and said this collaboration is part of his company’s ongoing quest for the world’s best designers. “Wang is one of the most important designers around. He is a designer that I personally appreciate,” Antonioli said.
