Some of us are STILL trying to catch up on the first two episodes of the current ‘America’s Next Top Model’ All Star season, the third episode of which will be airing tonight. But more important news than Angelea’s latest cat fight or Allison’s newest doe-eyed face have just hit the streets: fashion legend and beloved judge Andre Leon Talley is reportedly leaving the show after this season! No more dreckitude, no more fabulosity, no more mumuus – it’s the end of the ALT era.
But unlike some of the famous judges of the past (>cough< Paulina >cough< Porizkova), Talley assures that there is no ill will between him and the show’s sometimes infamous host, Tyra Banks. To him, it is simply his time to step down. “It’s all good in the neighborhood,” Talley told Page Six yesterday “I had a fabulous time. It was a mutual agreement. There is no unhappiness, at all.” He made sure to note that he and Tyra “remain friends,”. Who wouldn’t want to remain friends with him? He’s the definition of fabulous!
New York Magazine reported that there will be at least one more season following the All-Stars, if only one more, so speculation is brewing on who will replace Talley in that coveted celebrity guest judge seat. In the whopping 17 cycles of the series, the celeb judges have included the likes of Janice Dickinson, Kimora Lee Simmons, Twiggy, Paulina (who apparently left due to a Tyra rift) and most recently, Talley, who joined in Cycle 14. Many media outlets are naming People’s Revolution front woman and reality star herself, Kelly Cutrone, as the front runner for Talley’s seat. And if that’s the case, none of this playing catch up stuff – I may just have to buy a DVR.
