Chicago’s brightest and most influential fashion elite were out for the sixth annual Joffrey Ballet’s Couture and Cocktails… and who better than to lead us into a fashion show than international designer David Meister?!
Held at the city’s newest venue, The Hudson, only Chicago’s most chic were out to fundraise, celebrate and enjoy all the dancing that Joffrey Ballet had to offer. Co-chaired this year by Kristina McGrath and Rebecca Besser, this glamorous fall event featured Meister and a dramatic full-runway fashion show co-presented by Neiman Marcus Michigan Avenue. Along with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, guests enjoyed both a silent and live auction and dancing with Joffrey company members. This year’s event sponsors include Neiman Marcus Michigan Avenue, CelebTV, Michigan Avenue magazine, Intersport, McGrath Imports, United Airlines, Moet & Chandon and Belvedere. The event started the launch of The Joffrey Ballet’s 2011-2012 season.
In 2010, Couture & Cocktails raised more than $260,000 for The Joffrey Ballet’s programs and performances which help sustain the artistic innovation and elegance that are synonymous with the Joffrey name. Gifts to Couture & Cocktails also provide dance and educational opportunities to thousands of Chicago students with this year’s goal being just over $280,000. With so many in attandance, there is no doubt that the company met their goal!
