At this rate, Kim Kardashian will be next in line at taking over the luxury fashion house.
Rumors are swirling now that Alexander Wang could be next in line at taking over the creative director position at Christian Dior. According to a Vogue UK source, the other top three names have been pulled out of the running for the job. “For Dior, it’s a pretty tricky situation, as the three favourites really can’t take the job,” the source told the magazine. “Haider Ackerman is said to be ‘way too edgy’ for Dior; Marc Jacobs wanted the job a lot, but LVMH wants him to stick with Vuitton; and Riccardo Tisci simply refused, saying that he was feeling more than comfortable with the job at Givenchy. So nobody’s taking over so far.”
Though Wang has always been a fashion favorite among buyers and critics alike, industry experts might be a bit wary since the sportswear designer has never shown a interest in designing couture before.
The Galliano drama has unfolded into this whole, big mess. Hopefully, the fashion house can have someone at the helm before the year is out but it’s not looking too likely… Stay tuned.
