There’s never a shortage of parties in New York, especially ones celebrating the newest in fabulous footwear. This week’s hottest ticket to have for the opening of the Jean-Michel Cazabat NYC flagship boutique, located on the chic shopping row of Bleecker Street. The French footwear guru’s sleek and funky space was brimming with the luxe leathers, suedes and skins of the fall 2011 collection. Guests to the party posed for photos against a JMC backdrop, drank pink Nicolas Feuillatte bubbly by a simulated fireplace and noshed amazing appetizers like lettuce rolls, egg rolls and chicken satay (the best party hors d’oeuvres I’ve had in a long time!)
The space itself was boutique-sized, boasting an electric blue accent wall along which the DJ spun rock and pop tunes. Jean-Michel Cazabat ankle boots, flats and heels were displayed in a series of cubby-hole boxes above, placed along illuminated counters at eye level and tucked into pull out drawers below. It was a virtual footwear frenzy everywhere you looked and we couldn’t get enough!
The party turned into a star-studded affair as guests including designers Nicole Miller, Ralph Rucci and Naeem Khan, Linda Fargo of Bergdorf Goodman, singer Maxwel, Shala Monroque, DJ Becka Diamond and of course, the man of the hour Jean-Michel Cazabat himself, all showed up to welcome the new NYC flagship to the neighborhood.
