London Fog gets a new face for the campaign, Carine Roitfeld styles with Chanel and Macy's starts its new mBlog

London Fog Grabs Some X-Factor

London Fog has tapped pop star Nicole Scherzinger as the new face of its holiday and spring campaign that breaks in December magazines as she succeeds “Mad Men” actress Christina Hendricks. “Christina Hendricks was fantastic for us, but she was more classic and tailored. Nicole is a little more modern and contemporary. She has a really fierce sense of style,” said Dari Marder, chief marketing officer at Iconix Brand Group, which owns London Fog.

“I love trenchcoats and London Fog coats are timeless,” said Scherzinger, who is currently serving as a judge on Fox’s “The X Factor.” The print ads are slated for InStyle, Cosmopolitan and People StyleWatch, among other titles. Next month, an outdoor campaign will go up in six to 10 markets including New York and Los Angeles. A digital component will be tied to the new London Fog e-commerce site that launched in the U.S. in September.

Carine Roitfeld to Style Chanel Campaign

Carine Roitfeld has done an encore chez Chanel and styled the French brand’s forthcoming spring-summer campaign, which Karl Lagerfeld photographed over the weekend at the mythic Hôtel du Cap-Eden-Roc in Antibes, France. The designer cast Saskia de Brauw and Joan Smalls for the ads, which are “all about athletics and the sea.…It’s very modern sportif and in black-and-white,” Lagerfeld said. The peripatetic designer, who earlier this week unveiled plans to reignite his signature business with two new lines, is now off to Rome to shoot Fendi’s fall campaign. Arizona Muse is slated to pose on the streets at dawn and dusk.

Macy’s New mBlog

Tomorrow, Macy’s will launch mBlog, an online microsite at, offering fashion, beauty, home and lifestyle news and trends served up with an insider-y voice. Martine Reardon, executive vice president of marketing for Macy’s, said mBlog will “give readers direct access to a unique and influential set of voices.” Embedded e-commerce allows readers to purchase featured merchandise directly from the blog. and will provide how-to videos, trend-spotting, user and expert reviews and original blog posts. Each day of the week is devoted to a different topic: women’s fashion on Monday, men’s on Tuesday, home on Wednesday, accessories on Thursday, and beauty on Friday.
