Another year of Small Business Saturday, Elisa Sednaoui gets with Roberto Cavalli and Sean John expands with Macy's

Bloomberg Kicks off Small Business Saturday

This morning Mayor Michael Bloomberg and American Express chairman and chief executive officer Kenneth Chenault will kick off the second annual Small Business Saturday, a campaign to encourage shopping at independent boutiques on Nov. 26, the day after Black Friday. Fifty elected officials in 30 states have pledged to spread the word in their respective communities. In Manhattan, 50 to 100 stores are on board with the effort, and a handful of yet-to-be-named celebrities will make their shopping known on Small Business Saturday. Discounts will be offered to consumers to try to help spur spending. Last year, 1.2 million Facebook users “liked” the Small Business Saturday page.

Elisa Sednaoui is the Face of Roberto Cavalli Fragrance

Coty Prestige announced this week that it has signed an agreement with Elisa Sednaoui to be the face of the new Roberto Cavalli fragrance for woman, to be revealed in February 2012.“As Cavalli house, I feel like I have a tiger inside”, said Elisa Sednaoui. “I’m blessed and very grateful to have the opportunity to be the face of the Roberto Cavalli fragrance, it’s a real honor”.

“Elisa is the Cavalli woman. We couldn’t have made a better choice than her. She embodies all the values of Cavalli: glamour, elegance and sexiness. She definitely doesn’t go unnoticed”, said Françoise Mariez, SVP International European Marketing Licences, Coty Prestige.

Sean John Joins Macy’s

Sean John is in retail expansion mode which began Tuesday when Sean “Diddy” Combs and Terry Lundgren opened a sleek new 2,000 square-foot Sean John men’s shop at Macy’s Herald Square. The new space, situated in a prime, central pad on the denim and contemporary men’s floor, replaces an older 1,500-square-foot shop that was tucked away in a corner location.

The brightly lit shop features lustrous white fixtures and showcases sportswear and accessories, with a dedicated area for denim. An interactive 46-inch touch screen video display allows customers to search for and shop additional Sean John product on and, as well as watch videos and access Facebook and Twitter.
