As the fall temperatures drop and the rain continues to fall here in New York (with reports of snow for the weekend!), let’s pause for a moment and hone in on the warm, tranquil, deep sea blues of Marion Cotillard and her latest ad for Dior. After traipsing around the globe to exotic locales like London, Shnaghai, Paris and even New York, Cotillard’s most recent vignette as a Dior-toting femme fetale brought her into the caressing breezes and still waters of Los Angeles.
Photographer Steven Klein shot Cotillard in a sleek, archetypal L.A. house by architect John Lautner. Brandishing her ubiquitous Lady Dior bag, this time in a color-blocked croc, Cotillard looks ever the Old Hollywood siren with her smoldering eyes and tousled waves. Giovanna Battaglia styled the ad, with Julien d’Ys on hair and Christophe Danchaud doing makeup. The campaign is slated to break in the International Herald Tribune on Nov. 14 and the Financial Times on Nov. 19. French weeklies and December monthlies are to follow, a time when we’ll REALLY be wanting that swimming pool and the Hollywood hills.
