Eugenia Kim

CFDA-winning milliner Eugenia Kim made a personal appearance while she showcased her Fall and Resort Collection at p.45 in Bucktown on Saturday, November 12th. I had the opportunity to talk with Kim about her latest collection. She told me that the most popular hats in this current line include the Evelyn leopard print beret; Lula wool turban headband and the Annie cashmere cap. She also said that the best seller in Chicago is cold weather knit hats. (We know how to look stylish when its freezing out!) Kim brought in knit hats for babies for her local loyalists. Just picture mommy and baby matching hats – so adorable. Kim stated that the best seller over the years has been the Boho Fedora with a mixed feather bouquet.

Eugenia Kim can also be found in high-end stores such as Neiman Marcus, Saks, Barneys New York, Bergdorf Goodman and Her line includes felt, knit, woven and fur hats along with hair accessories. She also designs a line of hats for men (see for more information). Kim’s hats are worn by over 400 celebrities, including Madonna, Christina Aguilera, Kirsten Dunst, Alicia Keys, and Beyoncé, to name a few.

If you get to p.45 quick enough, you may be one of the lucky women to purchase a limited edition “Daniella” headband. Kim will offer forty-five exclusive, limited-edition “Daniella” headbands at $58/each. 100% of proceeds from the headband bought at the Chicago-based boutique or online at will be donated to CURE. Each headband will also be autographed by Kim herself.

CURE, Citizens United for Research in Epilepsy, was founded by parents of children with epilepsy who were frustrated with their inability to protect their children from the devastation of seizures and the side effects of medications. Unwilling to sit back and accept the debilitating effects of epilepsy, these parents joined forces to spearhead the search for a cure.

Tricia Tunstall, Founder of p.45 explains, “CURE is an organization close to my heart. When thinking of a way to benefit the organization, I immediately thought of Eugenia (Kim) because we have collaborated together since p.45’s opening 14 years ago. Eugenia inspires me with her creative energy and her individual sense of style.”

p.45 is located at 1643 N. Damen Ave., Chicago, Illinois. 773.862.4523
