T’is the season to get sued! Legal battles rage today involving Derek Lam, Ivanka Trump and, of course, the Kardashians. To add to the steadily growing heap of celebrity headaches, SRG Ventures, a New York-based licensing company that had been overseeing plans for Snooki’s merchandise, including her line of slippers with Happy Feet, has slapped the “Jersey Shore” starlet (and her management firm, Neon Entertainment) with a $7 million lawsuit alleging that Nicole Polizzi failed to act on deals the firm presented to her and that she negotiated with other brands behind SRG’s back.
In October, Snookie filed her own suit against SRG, seeking to terminate their agreement on the grounds that SRG had failed to live up to the financial terms of the deal. Representatives for SRG Ventures declined to comment on details of the case. However, a rep for Neon Entertainment said Polizzi was ready for a legal confrontation: “Ms. Polizzi disputes SRG’s version of the facts and looks forward to her day in court.” Geez. Could they at least gift wrap the subpoena?
