Rodarte Brings Drama To the Stage
Rodarte sisters Kate and Laura Mulleavy will create the costumes for the Los Angeles Philarmonic’s production of “Don Giovanni” in May. It will be directed by Christopher Alden with a set by Frank Gehry, who also created the Walt Disney Concert Hall in downtown L.A. where the performances will take place.
“Opera has always been a part of us; our grandmother was from Rome and studied it as a young girl,” the duo jointly stated. “To be a part of the legacy of ‘Don Giovanni’ is an amazing opportunity. Working with Frank Gehry in the concert hall that he designed, alongside [conductor] Gustavo Dudamel and the Los Angeles Philharmonic, is a dream.”
Make Up For Ever Hosting Model Search
Last year, Make Up For Ever tried to make a big controversy last year by casting models in their ad campaigns (gasp!) with no make up on. Unfortunately, many were severely unimpressed due to the fact that these were young, professional models and of course, the are going to look good with no makeup. That’s what they’re paid for, duhr. So, the makeup brand will now host a contest where fans can send in pictures of themselves in their favorite looks (wearing MUFE, of course). Aspiring makeup artists/models can submit photos through the month of January, and finalists will be announced on the brand’s Facebook page. The winner gets to star in ads for the company’s HD Starter Kit.
Keeping Cool During Split
The split between Lorenzo Martone and Ryan Brown from Arc NY Talent PR appears to be amicable — they’re setting up separate agencies and taking separate clients. Brown is keeping Julie Henderson, Alessandra Ambrosio and Irina Shayk, and Martone will rep Jeisa Chiminazzo, Nicole Trunfio and Julie Ordon. We hear Martone will focus on fashion and art-related projects and will open with a dinner during New York Fashion Week next month.
