Trending for 2012: The Belted Coat

January 10, 2012 • Fashion Blog, Shopping, Trends

I do love a cinched waist. Don’t you? It’s so flattering. I remember back in the early 90’s I just had to own a belted coat! So I saved up (I was working my first real job out of college so it took a while) and bought a camel cashmere belted number (much like the one pictured in #2 above) which I wore to death until I realized it didn’t fit me properly and purged it. Now I wish I had kept that belted coat and had it tailored properly. Oh well, it’s a great excuse for me to get another one. No longer solely for trenches, this fall/winter essential looks best with slim fitting pants or over a dress with your sexiest of heels. Personally I am coveting one with a pattern like the Chloe number (#7) above. Here are 10 belted coats we are loving right now:

1. Ralph Lauren Black Label Patton Wool And Angora-Blend Coat, $3,500

2. Ralph Lauren Collection Alexandria Camel Hair Coat, $4,900

3. Bottega Veneta Belted Double-Faced Cashmere Coat, $4,700

4. The Row Sultan Belted Crepe Trench Coat, $720

5. Drkshdw By Rick Owens Belted Brushed-Cotton And Washed-Leather Coat, $1,460

6. Missoni Red Multi Color ZigZag Belted Coat, $1,675

7. Chloe Striped Wool-Blend Coat, $2,195

8. Latte By Coffeeshop Black And White Plaid Wool Asymmetrical Zip Front Belted Coat, $118.39
