The non-fashion public may know her best as the revived Alice from Tim Burton’s 2010 remake of Alice in Wonderland. But to those of us in the know, actress Mia Wasikowska has been a fixture on the fashion industry for some time. When the movie hit big, Wasikowska appeared in various rising star spreads, including the coveted “A New Hollywood” Vanity Fair cover fold, and on the covers of the most prominent fashion tomes. Now the delicate beauty who channels another Mia, a young Mia Farrow, has been picked as the spring 2012 face of Italian brand Miu Miu.
Wasikowska replaces the label’s fall 2011 face, 15-year-old actress Hailee Steinfeld (the edgy, brunette yin Wasikowska’s porcelain blonde yang) and the resort face, 34-year-old mode Guinevere van Seenus. Past faces of the brand have included Vanessa Paradis, Selma Blair, and Lindsay Lohan.
