In addition to our live tweets, up to the minute updates and of course, in-depth reviews, we’ve hunted down some other great resources for you to experience everything MBFW! One of the best go-to guides is the newest edition of Alexa, the high-end fashion broadsheet free inside the New York Post, which hit newsstands today.  Starting today, and throughout New York’s Fashion Week, Alexa will also offer exclusive daily Editor’s Choice on its website,

The twelve-page section features a round-up of sweet and pretty spring trends, the world’s most coveted shoes, bright and bold colors from make-up to dresses,  and a lush Valentine’s Day gift guide for the woman who has everything.  Trend spotters can get their fix of celebrity style with Fashion Snaps and gossip from New York City’s fashion world in threads.

Among the highlights:

Interview with Margaret Maldonado, celeb-stylist-rep and now: designer

Margaret Maldonado, formerly known as the agent who helped create the celebrity stylist with clients like Rachel Zoe, Jen Rade (Angelina Jolie), Petra Flannery (Mila Kunis, Emma Stone) and Christina Ehrlich and Andrea Lieberman (Gwen Stefani); author of a book about her time as Jermaine Jackson’s common-law wife; and producer of “The Jacksons: An American Dream” —  now has a fourth career as designer of her own fashion line, L’Agence, coveted by celebs like Sarah Jessica Parker and Angelina Jolie..

Maldonado on creating the celeb stylist: “Never would an editor not do the styling on a magazine shoot. But I was the agent that said ‘Well, I think you’re going to have to make an exception if you want this [celebrity].’ The manager would say, ‘They’re not getting so-and-so for their shoot unless your person is styling them.’ So we bullied our way into a lot of jobs.”

On L’Agence, her own line, which has become the cool girl casual label of choice: “I love fabric, I like arts and crafts. Even when I wasn’t doing this, I was always doing something. I was always making my own clothes.”

Kate Moss only works and makes appearances in Europe these days, and hasn’t been seen in the United States for months.  It seems that she still has trouble securing a U.S. visa due to American authorities requesting drug tests before she can enter the country, after her unintentional Daily Mirror “shoot” with what looked like cocaine.

Fashion week previews: Henri Bendel will recreate a Fashion Week front-row, complete with cartoon Anna Wintour, in its windows; Duro Olowu will forgo traditional presentation to erect a pop-up shop at Salon 94 Freemans, featuring eclectic sculptures by Juergen Teller and Laurie Simmons; and Christian Cota will use a Diet Pepsi can as inspiration for his fall 2012 collection.
