For the Richard Chai LOVE Fall/Winter 2012 ready to wear show, Chai wanted a look that would have the same feel on both the men and the women so he strove for a natural yet bronzed look. Chai called on MAC key artist James Kaliardos to complete the look for both men and women. “[The] Peter Lindbergh photo were the girls were androgynous,” was the goal of Kaliardos, which mush of the focus of the look being on the eyes.
For the skin, BB Cream was applied to the cheekbone and Pro Taupe Blush was lightly swept on under the cheekbone itself and temples to added the illusion of a stronger bone. Concealer was only used where needed.
For the eyes, Chai wanted more of a strong brow so this was penciled in to create a brow with definition but soft and textured. Coffee Walnut Pro Sculpting Cream was applied straight to the lids and crease in a straight yet well blended shape. A bit was added underneath the eye as well. Mauvelous Pro Longwear Eye Shadow was added underneath the eye is a sheer application. There was no mascara needed and lashes were just slightly curled.
Lips were a classic nude shade in Pro Lip Palette. The color was stamped into the lips as a stain and applied with the finger.
Hair was kept simple because of it androgynous feel. Brushed slightly away from the face, the hair add just a bit of height.
