New York Fashion Week Fall ’12. Suno’s Military Mash-Up

February 10, 2012 • Fashion Blog, Fashion Shows, New York Fashion Week Fall '12

Summary: Houndstooth and stripes were abound at the Suno Fall/Winter 2012 show. Max Osterweis and Erin Beatty created a “military party-girl” motif throughout the collection, still within the patented-Suno print clash. The black and white combinations combined with the rainbow-hued floral patterns lightened what could have been a drab color palette.

The graphic stripes added a boldness to the heavy outerwear. These bright florals shockingly paired nicely with dark wools. These can be seen as the accents of the collection, even though the were probably the most vibrant piece of each ensemble. The bold colors of the graphic geometric prints were a fresh take to just using a stripe pattern.

The show ended with the collective gasps of the dotted sequined wrap dress with beaded feathering. Gold dotted embroidery played off nicely with the  sequined floral motif. The sequins had a bright shine as well as a flow with the different prints and textures throughout.
