Outfit of The Day For February 10, 2012: My First Day At Lincoln Center For Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week

February 10, 2012 • Fashion Blog, Outfit Of The Day

So I decided to forgo the official first day of New York Fashion Week Thursday in order to spend it with my kids. What was I thinking? By noon I was up to my elbows in spit-up and dirty diapers…not to mention two year-old tantrums. So I was really looking forward to getting over to Lincoln Center for Day 2 and seeing a couple of shows. It was chilly outside, but gets hot in the tents when watching the shows, so I have learned to dress in layers after 12 seasons of doing this. That’s my cashmere coat draped over my arm.

Sorry this picture is not the best, but Taneisha had our camera at a show off-site, so Alia took this one of me with her smart phone. Anyway, I prefer to not dress like a freak or a poser – like I hate to say so many at Fashion Week do. Case in point, the guy (yes, that is a man) standing behind me. I’m never comfortable if I feel I’m trying too hard.
