Outfit Of The Day for March 7, 2012. A Study in Classic Leopard and Studs.

March 7, 2012 • Fashion Blog, Outfit Of The Day

Only I would think the flashiest detail of this outfit is my shoes! It’s not the leopard skirt, which I feel is a neutral and understated classic, nor the shiny leather sleeves on my coat. (I know you may be sick of this coat but I can’t believe how much I wind up wearing it this mild winter) To me, this outfit is all about the shoes, which are also rather simple except for the studs on the heels. I stalked these McQ by Alexander McQueen Studded Pumps and when they went on sale – then I pounced!

Shirt: New York Industrie Black Shirt, no longer available. Try this White House Black Market Womens Black Silk Utility Shirt, $94

Skirt: Club Monaco Silk Leopard Skirt, no longer available. See this Elizabeth And James Leopard Print Pencil Skirt, $198

Belt: From Henri Bendel – when they were in Chicago the first time! No longer available. You can count on Linea Pelle for belts like this Linea Pelle Buckle and Collar Stud Belt, $150

Necklace: My own vintage from a thrift store. This Danielle Stevens Graphite and Gold Beaded Multi Chain Necklace, $100 will work the same way.

Coat: Zara Black Wool Coat with Leather Sleeves, no longer available. You may like this Stella McCartney Wool Coat With Faux-Leather Sleeves, now $675

Tote: Black Leather from Shopbop, no longer available. This Marc by Marc Jacobs Black Leather Tote, $355 has similar soft leather.
