I was unable to attend the press event the night before the collection launched, but heard it cleared out in 14 minutes anyway! I would have been so pissed had I gone. Alia managed to snag the skirt pictured above for me, however. Thanks Alia! Anyway, as a mother with two young sons there was no possibility of my waiting in line at 2am, nor would I, to be frank. Since I wanted more, I resorted to stalking the H&M near my older son’s school on pretty much a daily basis on the hunt for returns. It turns out I was not the only mother with a stroller with this plan. I have met and traded with a few. Here is my tale of addiction.
The coat pictured above is the one I really wanted, but no luck. I can however, pay over $200 for it on eBay, but that’s not going to happen.
I really love the blue jacket pictured above and never found it either. I did see a woman wearing it at the St. Patrick’s Day Parade. I sized her up and considered clubbing her for it, but thought jail my not be the place for me. Besides, what if it didn’t fit?
Score! As luck would have it, I did manage to find this jacket on one of my stalking visits. Now if only I could find the matching pants…
Last Friday I had a doctor’s appointment in midtown so I checked out the H&M location near his office. I also met my fashion twin. She had the same plan I did and informed me she had scored a ton of stuff. I was instantly jealous. We were also wearing very similar Alexis Bittar earrings. I liked her, but it didn’t stop me from racing up the escalator to beat her to the necklace shown above. I let her have the other one.
So on Saturday I tricked my husband into thinking I had to go to the bathroom and ran into H&M and snagged the pants above in my size! I was too excited for words. Thankfully he didn’t see me sneak the bag under the stroller. I also saw the top, but I don’t care for shirts where the neck comes up that high. I know they don’t look good on me. So I passed it up. Much to my chagrin, when I tried the pants on at home, they looked awful! They were a sort of harem pant, but not fully committed, so I just appeared to have a load in my pants. Sadly they went back yesterday. Glad I know now and am thankful I have the skirt in the same pattern.
Of course I checked out the Marni rack BEFORE I left the store and found this dress in my size. I tried it on, but didn’t love it. The print really does nothing for me. I still considered buying it, but then thought I had better not. I should be happy with my skirt, jacket and necklace right?
Who am I kidding…I will probably stop by again while my son is in school today. I have been in H&M in the past week and half more times than I have been in the last year combined! What the hell is wrong with me? I need a 12-step program.
