From its first boutique opening in the 1800s, the House of Cartier established itself as a global name. It wasn’t long after that the Cartier brothers opened boutiques in Paris, London and New York as a means of showcasing pieces inspired by their travels around the world and the influential figures whom they met along the way.
For 165 years, the House of Cartier has been a window on the world, setting itself apart through its imaginative and culturally-inspired collections, craftsmanship and design. And the iconic jeweler recently showcased its standout creativity and innovation through a beautiful short film called “L’Odyssée de Cartier”. In the film, the brand’s signature icon, the panther, travels to the exotic locales, each bearing meaning for the Cartier name. The panther runs alongside steeds in Russia, braves a dragon in China and jumps to great heights with a gorgeous elephant in India. At the end, the panther finds it’s way back to Paris, and to the affections of a particularly stunning Cartier enthusiast. Gorgeously executed and impeccably constructed, “L’Odysse de Cartier” is the epitome of everything the name Cartier has stood for for generations: luxury and exquisite beauty.
The short film aired earlier this month but if you haven’t yet had a chance to see this visual masterpiece, check out these stills from the short film then watch it below.
