Trend For Spring 2012: A Lil’ Bit of Sheer

March 29, 2012 • Fashion Blog, Shopping, Trends

The Spring ’12 RTW runways were awash in sheer fabrics. In fact, you would think you have to bare it all. Please don’t. As much as we love this trend, it goes without saying a little bit of sheer goes a long way. We also think it’s best kept to evenings and/or weekends. I personally don’t think sheer fabrics have any place in an office environment and trust me, I’m no prude. If your bra or underwear are exposed please refrain from flashing your co-workers. However, if you must please make sure you go with a neutral color like ivory or beige.  I prefer the sheer styles that show little and leave a lot more to the imagination. Especially if you are over the age of 30. Keep it sophisticated, but have fun with the trend if you dare. I love the miniskirt with a sheer maxi overlay myself. Pair with a bright silk tank and a leather motorcycle jacket and you are ready to paint the town. It’s provocative without being trashy and that’s the key. Here are 10 sheer pieces that show a little yet have maximum impact:
