Last night at The Drake Hotel, Chicago fashionistas, philanthropists and even some passers-by dressed in their best red ensemble to attend Couture in Rouge, an event dedicated to raising awareness of the HIV/AIDS movement. The event boasted cocktails and small bites, and not to mention the AMAZING cover band, The Lisa Rene Band! The party was definitely jumping as guests were encouraged to sit down and mingle with one another or hit the dance floor and loss their minds to all our favorite songs (we’re talking Lady Gaga, Michael Jackson, and CeeLo Green!)
The atmosphere was fantastic (think an intimate gathering with about 200 of your best friends) and in true “Rouge Couture” fashion, four models dressed in beautiful red dresses stood on podiums on display as the centerpiece of the room. It appeared the event when off without a hitch, and even though the topic of HIV/AIDS can be a tricky one Couture in Rouge managed to make the evening about awareness and the celebration of life.
The highlight of my night? Meeting Cherie! A lifelong Midwesterner and recent New Mexico implant, Cherie Knight was staying at The Drake and stumbled upon the festivities!
