After nearly a year of debate who would replace John Galliano since he was fired from Dior last year for making anti-Semitic remarks, Raf Simons is the new creative director at Christian Dior. Cathy Horyn just broke the story at The New York Times. Even though most bets were on the former Jil Sander designer, it is now confirmed.
Dior is expected to make the official announcement this Wednesday. Simons will take over the Paris fashion house as creative director effective immediately. His first collection is slated for July at the fall haute couture shows.
