Vogue Coming to Thailand?
It seems as if Thailand may be getting its own version of the iconic couture magazine. An article from a Thai newspaper, translated by a poster at The Fashion Spot’s forums, says Condé Nast “is entering [the] Thai market with the first publication of Vogue Thailand by early 2013.” Elle Thailand’s editor-in-chief, Kullawit Laosuksri is already rumored to be Vogue‘s upcoming editor in chief. Issac Mizrahi Goes for Marriage
Six months after Xcel Brands Inc. acquired Isaac Mizrahi’s designer apparel business for $31.5 million, the designer has secured new deals for outerwear and wedding gowns. This Fall, the designer will also debut collections for accessories, denim, home, infantwear, housewares, tabletop and kitchen. Xcel Brands has signed a license to sell the Isaac Mizrahi New York bridal line exclusively at Kleinfeld. Mizrahi will unveil his new wedding gowns at a noontime runway show at Kleinfeld on April 18, and the collection will be available at the West 20th Street store the following day.
For outerwear, Xcel Brands signed a licensing deal with Fleet Street to develop women’s and children’s outerwear carrying the Isaac Mizrahi New York label. “From the very beginning, I have had a good coat business,” said Mizrahi, adding that he had a licensing deal with Fairbrooke in the Nineties. Parkas and peacoats are among the new offerings, but his personal favorites are the simple, chic styles such as a double-breasted coat with a large lapel. The 25-piece line will retail from $120 to $250.
Rumor Mill: Stefano Pilati for Armani?
The rumors of Stefano Pilati making the move to Armani has resurfaced once again. There was talk about a year ago that the former YSL designer would be making the move the the long standing fashion house but quietly died out. Now that Raf has been appointed to the House of Dior, the rumor mills are swinging in full force for everyone.
On Monday, journalist Jim Shi tweeted “My sources are telling me Stefano Pilati is headed 2 Giorgio Armani w/ the intention to assume full creative reigns when GA retires. #dope.” Sigh. Here we go again.
