Tall Women Can Now Unite!

A cause after my own heart! According to a press release from clothing brand Long Tall Sally, studies have proven that tall women are “richer, smarter and more powerful than their shorter counterparts.” And though tall people make approximately $789 more per inch per year than their shorter counterparts, we still suffer. The same study reports that 72% of tall women in the US have downplayed their height in social situations, with driver’s licenses and dating profiles at special risk for misrepresentation.

Now, the vertically gifted are getting their own special awareness week!. Launching yesterday, National Stand Tall Week has arrived to educate and empower the downtrodden—women over 5’8″ who have yet to embrace their height and all the rewards that come with it. So in case you’d like to join the movement, Long Tall Sally will be rolling out a pop-up shopping tour across the country along with special online offers like daily promotions on dresses, swimwear, shipping, plus a “win your shopping cart” contest. Make your tall-ness work for you!

Anne Leibovitz To Be Honored

She will be honored along with chef, author and TV host Anthony Bourdain. The Clio Awards celebrate creative professionals in the advertising, design and communications industries, and recognize people in fields as diverse as photography, fashion, food, travel, literature and film. Comedian Joan Rivers will host the event.

Coming Soon: Birchbox and Gossip Girl Collaboration

It seems as if the makeup inspiration of Serena and Blair could come to a box of samples near you! Birchbox,  the website the sends members a monthly box full of sample-size beauty goodies, have partnered with hit show Gossip Girl to put together a box of products inspired by Blair, Serena and many of the other GG players. Who knows what fun is yet to come from the Upper East side?
