We know that the Royal Couple just celebrated their one year anniversary and, while we’re very happy that their nupital bliss continues unhindered, there are MUCH more interesting things going on right now in the U.K. fashion world!
What has us a little green with envy these days is: first, Alice Temperley – designer of both Temperley London and Alice by Temperley and beloved outfitter to Kate Middleton – was chosen by the British department store John Lewis to create a collection for the store at an affordable price point. The 60-piece line will launch September 4th, with partywear expected in October. ”I wanted it to be very much a collection of essentials,” the designer told The Telegraph of the “feminine and functional” collection. And while John Lewis doesn’t have any brick and mortar outposts in the U.S., the chain does ship across the pond. Score!
The other bit of news that we’re currently coveting is that British footwear guru Nicholas Kirkwood has designed a one-off pair of shoes to celebrate the Queen’s Jubilee. The stiletto is encrusted in red and white Swarovski crystals and will be sold exclusively at Kirkwood’s boutique from the official Jubilee weekend starting June 2. Kirkwood wanted the beautifully-blinged out shoes to be a stylish, modern way to celebrate Her Majety’s longevity. We could definitely see Victoria Beckham rocking them out but sadly, there’s not much chance of us American enthusiasts getting a piece of the Kirkwood pie. Sigh!
