Manish Arora Leaves Paco Rabanne
French fashion house Paco Rabanne announced on Friday that their artistic directer, Manish Arora, is leaving after just two seasons. Both parties say Arora’s departure was a mutual decision. In a statement released to WWD, Rabanne credited Arora for bringing the label back into the spotlight after it had languished for several years. His designs drew mostly positive reviews when they were worn by Lady Gaga at the 2011 MTV Europe Music Awards. Arora has an eponymous collection that he’ll continue working on. There’s no word on his replacement at Rabanne.
Beth Ditto Comments on Lagerfeld’s Comments
Remember when Karl Lagerfeld made those …. “comments” about Adele’s weight? Well, Beth Ditto didn’t. Ditto talked about what Lagerfeld said. “I don’t think Adele would deny that she was fat. And I bet she doesn’t. Karl Lagerfeld used to be fat himself, so you gotta think about that,” explained Ditto. “He’s obviously not proud of that fact. I also think that people give him way too much power! He’s just an eccentric designer who makes amazing art but doesn’t always say the coolest sh*t.”
