Outfit Of The Day For May 9, 2012. Going a Little Crazy…For Print.

May 9, 2012 • Fashion Blog, Outfit Of The Day

Today I pulled out one of my Cynthia Rowley pieces I bought over 15 years ago. I’m wearing a harlequin print silk blouse with ruffle cuffs and gold buttons by the designer. I also kept the matching pants (yes, there are matching pants) but the whole get-up has to be worn at the right (rare) occasion, such as a garden party! A great way to tone down a crazy print silk blouse is to wear it with simple jeans and a jacket. I kept my shoes, bag and coat in neutrals to calm the pattern down – a bit!

Blouse: Cynthia Rowley Print Silk Blouse, no longer available. See this Tory Burch ‘Angelique’ Signature Scarf Print Silk Blouse in Tamarind Collage 2, $176 or this Equipment Daddy Tie Front Shirt in Golden, $475.81. I also love this Peter Pilotto Rope-print Silk Blouse, $935.

Jeans: Earl Jeans, no longer available. These Citizens of Humanity Elson Straight Leg Jeans in Lunar Wash, $189 are similar.

Trench Coat: Trovata, no longer available. See this Gabriella Rocha Gabriella Rocha Manhattan Trench Coat, now $70.99

Handbag: Bottega Veneta Veneta Large Intrecciato Leather Bag, $2250

Necklace: Trifari Vintage 1977 (my own – from high school prom!)  This Stella McCartney Star Pendant Necklace, $415 would look great with a funky blouse.

Belt: Gap, no longer available. I think this MICHAEL Michael Kors Metallic Belt, $42, is fabulous because it reverses from gold to silver!

Sandals: KORS Micheal Kors Platforms, no longer available. See these KORS Michael Kors Vernon Leather T-Strap Platform Sandals, $275 or  (I think I may need these) Michael Kors Python-effect Leather Platform Sandals, now $420.
