What Does Facebook Mean for the Fashion Industry?

That has been a main question for the social media site. The biggest issue is whether Facebook will have a long-term effect on the industry like Google or Amazon or if they will be more like a Yahoo or eBay?

There is talk about where Facebook will focus its attention with its increased cash flow. Some ideas have been further developing its open-graph technology, mobile account management services for companies, and mobile innovations to fuel brick and mortar shopping stores.

Cole Haan Closing Madison Avenue Location

Cole Haan is planning to shut down its location on Madison Avenue in February, and is moving to a smaller location next to Hermes, Michael Kors and other well known stores. Chairman and chief executive officer of Hartz Group said, “This is a once-in-a-generation opportunity for a luxury retailer to make a brand statement.”

We wonder how this location jump will have an effect on business?

Hunter Boots Goes Into High-Fashion 

The functional rain boot company is going high-end again. The brands latest collaboration was with Jimmy Choo. Hunter has tapped J. Mendels’s Gilles Mendel to design a limited edition line of Hunter boots for the fall.

“We thought it would be a fun, innovative way of showcasing the expertise J.Mendel is known for.” Three styles will be released and retail from $585 to $795 at Saks, Nordstrom, Borsuch and in November.
