An example of Mulberry's Fall Ad campaign

Mulberry Wow’s with Fall Ads

The Mulberry brand is bringing out their wild side with their fall ad campaign. Two giant furry beasts, claws included, will be shown alongside model Lindsey Wixson. As WWD said, the creatures are “a cross between the Muppets and ‘The Grimm’s Fairy Tales.'” To stay in a “wild” character, the shots were taken by photographer Tim Walker in Surrey, England, at Blackheath Forest.

Creative director Emma Hill was inspired by dark fairy tales and fantasy travels, creating a mix of dreams and fears, shown through the beasts and the high fashion clothing. Wixson will be shown wearing various looks from the fall collection along with toting the Del Rey, Maisie, and the new embellished Alexa bags. The advertisements will be shown in New York beginning June 24th along with being featured in the August issue of the U.S. and U.K. Vogue.

Ideeli’s Ideal Deal

Ideeli Inc, the Internet retailer that specializes in flash-sales, has received $30 million in funding from a group of investors, including Credit Suisse. It’s Ideeli’s fourth round of funding since the company was founded in November 2007. Other investors include: Next World Capital, Cue Ball Capital, StarVest Partners, Constellation Growth Capital and Kodiak Venture Partners.

While many other flash-sale sites have emerged, there are only a handful generating nine-figure volumes, including Gilt Groupe, HauteLook and Rue La La, as well as Ideeli. The new financing will be used to sustain growth, build infrastructure and systems, further develop customer data and insights and pump up the Ideeli team. Iddeli will also be relocating relocating its headquarters this August from SoHo to The New York Times Building at 620 Eighth Avenue, which is closer to the Garment District.

Marilyn Monroe Exhibit Opens at Salvatore Ferragamo Museum

Tuesday night inaugurated the “Marilyn” exhibition that was created in honor of Marilyn Monroe. The Ferragamo family was headed by Wanda Ferragamo, who welcomed guests from Italian actresses Valeria Solarino to American actresses, such as Anna Sophia Robb, the new star of “The Carrie Diaries.”

“Marilyn’s life really moves me because she didn’t have a family. An only child with a crazy mother and no father, she was totally alone and she missed the love of her family,” Ferragamo spoke about Marilyn and the exhibit.
