Jean Paul Gaultier has clearly been enjoying himself as the new creative director of Diet Coke. A few months back, we ogled the designer’s first two versions of a revamped (emphasis on the vamp) soda bottle, one created for night and day, respectively.
The designs were celebrated with a saucy ad campaign and a quasi-bizarre series of commercials that featured the designer interacting with marionette puppets. The quirky print ads were photographed by Stephane Sednaoui, and featured bottles with nautical stripes (day) and corset silhouettes (night) with JPG’s likeness. And now, the third scandalous installment has debuted and we’re liking what we see!
The new bottle has a tattoo motif and a pin-up girl image to match, in a Kat Von D meets Bettie Page kind of vibe. And fear not, the new design comes with it’s very own slightly sinister, marionette-laden commercial to celebrate it’s unveiling, which you can see below.
Oh and by the way, if you ever wanted to buy one of these little drinkable designs, they’re not actually offered stateside. But let us know the next time you’re in Europe so you can bring us back a case!
